"You have to fight back don't be scared because there are a lot of people who support. If we don't fight back and speak up, then who will? You have to be brave."

Ari Fuji was at high school when she realized she wanted to earn her wings and become a pilot. But growing up in Japan, where female pilots were largely unheard of, it was a dream that meant reaching for the sky. She explains, "The wall was high. The Self Defense Forces weren't recruiting women because there were no female pilots back then. I realized, all of a sudden, that the route to becoming a pilot was unexpectedly narrow."
