Big League Chew is now selling pouches with female packaging

Big League Chew — the stringy, shredded-up bubble gum that can be found in almost every Little League dugout in America — has launched its first-ever “softball” line, which features new female packaging.

“Don’t miss out! Our new softball-inspired pouch is available for online purchase now!” tweeted Big League Chew on Friday.

The Ford Gum & Machine Company, which announced the move last fall, plans to send out shipments in the coming weeks as it prepares for the line’s retail debut.

The pouches are slated to hit shelves on Feb 1. — which is National Bubble Gum Day.

“Big League Chew is bubble gum fun for everyone, which is why we are so excited to introduce our newest character to the world,” said Rob Nelson, inventor of Big League Chew. “We often draw inspiration for future products from our dedicated fans and customers. Whether it is fun alternative name suggestions for our bubble gum flavors or new characters to feature, we hear you and we appreciate you. This new pouch is inspired by the girls who play hard and dream big. Welcome to the Big League Chew family.”

Sports business reporter Darren Rovell tweeted out a picture of the new pouches on Friday, sparking numerous comments and jabs about men being possibly upset or “triggered” by the female packaging.

“Because of this…my son has vowed to never play baseball again,” joked one user.

“Look forward to seeing packs of this in guys with american flag emoji twitter name’s toilets,” another said.

One person joked: “Imagine being the guy at the water cooler with men only big league chew.”
