Berkeley votes to rename manholes gender-neutral ‘maintenanceholes’

The Berkeley City Council voted to amend its municipal code to excise gender-specific terms in favor of gender neutral ones, meaning that, among other things, a “manhole” will soon be known as a “maintenancehole.”
