The Prado Museum in Madrid will show an exhibition to the female Renaissance artists Sofonisba Anguissola, a painter in the court of King Phillip II of Spain, and Lavinia Fontana, generally recognized as the first professional female artist, in an effort to counter centuries of male-dominated art history.
