If confirmed, Rear Adm. Yvette Davids will be the first female superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. Davids' appointment would also mean the Naval Academy is no longer the only service academy to have never had a female leader. All other branches of the military have had women lead their academies, beginning with Rear Adm. Sandra Stosz, who took command of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2011.
