As anyone who listens to Lorde's music knows, the singer-songwriter is known for lyrics that are both empowering and relatable. Her words often manage to capture the heart of any issue, leaving her fans with a sense of solidarity – a feeling of, "Yup, I've been there too."

And Lorde's elements of wisdom extend beyond her music and into her personal beliefs as well, as we recently saw in the singer's interview with 60 Minutes. While speaking with host Lara Logan, Lorde was asked about what feminism means to her – and her answer was definitely applause-worthy.

"I mean, it's totally not about me," she responded. "It's about all the women who may not have the opportunities that I have, all the privileges that I have." She went on to add that feminism, to her, is about "trying to fight for better conditions and better treatment of all women, whether that be trans women, or women of color, or...women in professions that don't get a lot of respect." Lorde ended her answer by saying: "That, to me, is what feminism is all about."

Lorde made some really important points in her response. Feminism is certainly at its best when it is intersectional, and when it includes all women from different backgrounds. The world could definitely use more people with outlooks like hers. Check out her interview in the video clip below.
